Teach Your Child To Read, Write and Spell Using The Phonics System

Reading is one of the most important skills we will ever learn.  It may be the most important skill we ever acquire.  Without it, we have a difficult road to travel, because reading is the key that opens the door to higher learning.

So why does the United States rank 18th in its literacy rate, and what can we as parents and caregivers do to give our children a firm foundation in literacy?

As parents, we should establish the foundation for reading at home, before entering into kindergarten.  Since a child’s brain is developing so rapidly from birth through age 5, we should introduce reading at a time when it is easiest for the child to learn.

The best time to introduce written language to children is around 3 months of age using the whole word method.  If you have already missed out on this window of opportunity, it is not too late.  You can begin teaching your child to read phonetically, by decoding the sounds of the letters, beginning at 3 or 4 years of age.

With the FUNdamentals Reading Program, children are taught that words are made up of sounds and that these sounds work together to make words.  To make it very easy for children to remember the sounds of the letters, they are first introduced to a picture.  This makes it simple for the child to identify the sounds being learned.

Within the first few lessons, children are sliding the sounds together to form words from the picture cards.  This is a very important part of learning to read.  By using pictures, the children easily remember the sounds they are being taught.

When we teach children to read phonetically, we are giving them a solid foundation for reading.  The sounds of the letters come together to form words.  By breaking up new words into these sounds, children will be able to read almost every word in the English language.

The FUNdamentals Reading Program not only teaches children to read, it focuses on teaching them to write and to spell.  Children will learn the names of the 26 letters that make up the alphabet.  They will also learn the 44 different sounds we make with our mouth to make over 1 million different words in the English language.  They will learn to write and to spell the 70 different ways that we write the 44 sounds of the English language.

FUNdamentals Reading Program is a self-paced, fully guided reading program.  The teacher, Jeanie Eller, who has her Masters in education, and had taught thousands of people to read nationwide, will be with you every step of the way to make learning to read a simple and enjoyable process.

The program includes a 45 minute introductory DVD, 7 instructional CD’s, 1 CD of music and songs to reinforce the concepts being taught, a 102 page workbook, game cards, and picture/letter cards.  The company also offers a 100% money back guarantee.

About Jeanie Eller, MA

Jeanie Eller, who holds a Master’s Degree in Education, has been developing her method of teaching reading since she started working as a first grade teacher in 1964.  In 1973, Jeanie worked for the state of Alaska as a teacher.  Always aware that reading is actually a very simple skill to learn, Jeanie knew that phonics was the key needed to teach people how to read.  It was during her time in Alaska that she discovered a very wonderful learn to read program called Action Reading.

Since that time, Jeanie has become recognized as one of the nation’s leading literacy consultants, advocates and teachers.  Her energy and dedication to the literacy cause has touched the lives of thousands.  She has taught ACTION READING to students from pre-school age to illiterate inmates at the Arizona State Prison.  In 1994, Jeanie taught a group of illiterate adults to read in two weeks for the Oprah Winfrey Show.  She is constantly in demand for speaking engagements.

Jeanie Eller believes that every child who has completed the first grade should be able to read a story from the newspaper and answer comprehension questions about it.  By using the FUNdamentals Reading Program, they will be able to do this.

Jeanie has been a featured guest with numerous appearances on the G. Gordon Liddy, Mary Matalin and Ollie North radio shows.  The successful Action Reading program was also spotlighted when Jeanie taught illiterate adults to read in two weeks for the Oprah television show.

Her successful programs have been implemented and have reversed poor scholastic standards in thousands of homes and schools.

Through the use of her program, high school dropouts learned to read with only 20 hours of instruction.

Through the use of her program Montgomery, Alabama’s test scores went from the 20th/30th percentile on the Stanford Diagnostic Reading Test to the 80th/90th percentile.

Imagine what FUNdamentals can do for you!
